FoRB and AI event

This week the APPG for Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) joined with the Religious Freedom & Business Foundation to bring together experts and faith leaders to examine how AI impacts freedom of religion or belief. Jim Shannon MP opened the session, stressing the need for dialogue and ethics in emerging technologies. Speakers including Dr Brian Grim, Will Jones (Future of Life Institute), Matthew Jones (Common Growth Fund and the FoRB Foundation), and Ihab El Ghazzawi (Dell Technologies) explored AI’s potential to enhance human dignity while warning of risks from bias, manipulation, and lack of oversight. All agreed on the need for ethical guardrails, inclusive governance, and ensuring AI serves humanity and protects the freedom of belief. We look forward to continued investigation and work exploring the implications and potential for AI usage in the FoRB arena.
