BPUR

BPUR International is a global campaign to enact an ‘International Treaty to Ban the Political Abuse of Religion’ with a simple, effective approach to eliminate the root causes of religious conflicts and discrimination worldwide.

It is on the international agenda with an imminent supporting resolution at the Council of Europe, rapidly growing support in more than 80 countries, including the United Kingdom and advanced engagements with over 20 governments.

This campaign is not an attempt to separate religion and politics. It considers such a separation as irrelevant and could damage the stability of many countries. The main objective is to affirm all existing international conventions with a highly focused and more effective new international treaty to combat specifically all forms of discrimination on the grounds of religion.

We are engaging civil society and elected representatives in pressing all responsible governments to lead this campaign on the international stage. We strongly believe that the United Kingdom is an ideal country to lead this global effort to enact a significant United Nations treaty that would make the world more fair and more peaceful.

BPUR International is based in London and registered as a non-profit (number 11848450).
