On Tuesday 21 April, the All Party Parliamentary Group for Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) held a Business and FoRB Event, with Brian Grim, founder of the Religious Freedom and Business Foundation.

The event brought together stakeholders to highlight the growing importance of faith-friendly workplaces across sectors including infrastructure, energy, professional services, and retail. Organisations featured included AWE, Baringa, EY UK, John Lewis Partnership, NATS, Nationwide, OVO Energy, and Thames Water, showcasing approaches to supporting employees’ religious identities within professional environments.

Speakers emphasised the role of inclusive workplace practices in improving productivity, staff wellbeing, and organisational culture.

Businesses are built by people, and around 85% of the world’s population holds a faith. Faith is not merely a private conviction, but a core pillar of identity, and therefore it should also be respected and protected in the workplace. – Jim Shannon MP
