Mojdeh Falahi

Mojdeh Falahi is imprisoned for her Christian faith.

On September 9, 2024, Iranian security forces arrested Mojdeh Falahi, a Christian convert, in Shiraz. She had gone to the prosecutor’s office to provide legal documents for a fellow Christian who had been detained the previous day. Authorities immediately arrested her and charged her with “illegal Christian activities.”

Falahi has been held incommunicado at the notorious Pelak-e 100 detention center, under the jurisdiction of Iran’s Intelligence Ministry. Her family’s repeated requests to contact her have been denied, and she has been refused access to legal representation.

This is not the first time Falahi’s family has suffered persecution for their faith. In 2019, her two older sisters, Maryam and Marjan, were arrested alongside other Christian converts in Bushehr. Maryam later lost custody of her adopted daughter simply because of her Christian faith, and both sisters faced heavy fines and professional restrictions.

No official statement has been released regarding the reasons for her detention, the specific charges she may be facing, or her current condition.
